As an Ipswich Town football fan, I am watching with interest the change of direction the club is currently going through.  A year ago we were a large club for the sleepy smallness of East Anglia – built on a dynasty that had lasted decades, we were a real family club – great values for investing in our youngsters and local money to do it with.  Ambition was quietly driven with 5 or even 10 year plans!  Very rarely was the boat shaken.

“Your music's repulsive... but at least it keeps you off drugs”

We caused a riot at church the other day. Well, a substantial ripple of disturbance anyway; it was the next leg in taking our fortnightly worship event 'on tour' to our local churches in S17, and after an initial spate of heart attacks the feedback was generally enthusiastic and positive. However, among the varying critiques slipped this statement,“Your music's repulsive... but at least it keeps you off drugs” it caught me off kilter slightly.

Soulroots Young People To Run Big Brother House For Charity Summer 2010

Members of the Steelroots Youth Community in the S17 area of Sheffield will be running a 'Big Brother House' this summer to raise money to sponsor African school children and promote prayer amongst their community.

At Soulroots we realise how very very priviledged we are to live where we do in the way we do and that it really is our responsibility to honour God by using our wealth and opportunity to help and support others.  This sentiment is evident by the way that so many of Steelroots Young People go on to serve God in charities, overseas and through churches in practical missional ways...

We have comitted ourselves to supporting mission in other areas PRAYERFULLY, PRACTICALLY and FINANCIALLY.
